Dr. Jeremy Archer

Jeremy M. Archer, MD, MS, FAAP, is an award-winning, board-certified pediatric cardiologist and pediatrician with rich clinical experience.  He is an experienced speaker, medical author, and editor, with outstanding communication skills and over 25 years of teaching experience.   He has served since 2014 as the pediatric cardiology editor for the point-of-care clinical reference Dynamed, where he has contributed to over 30 monographs.  He has also served as a reviewer for multiple scientific journals.   He founded J Archer Consulting to provide superior expert witness and medical editing services.
 
Dr. Archer’s areas of clinical expertise include exercise testing and sports cardiology, sudden death, fetal cardiology, pulmonary hypertension, dysautonomia, POTS, long Covid, chest wall abnormalities including pectus excavatum, preoperative and postoperative congenital heart disease care, and transthoracic and fetal echocardiography.  Dr. Archer is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery.  His own research has focused on the diagnosis and impact of congenital heart disease in premature infants. 
 
He studied biology and computer science at Princeton University, graduating summa cum laude, and attended medical school at the University of Florida, receiving multiple honors.  He completed pediatric residency training at the University of Vermont, where he was chief resident, and cardiology fellowship at the University of Florida, where he also earned a master’s degree in Health Outcomes and Policy.
 
Dr. Archer served from 2013-2020 as pediatric cardiologist at the Billings Clinic, where he built a pediatric and fetal cardiology practice to serve a wide geographic region in Montana, northern Wyoming, and western North Dakota. He was the medical director of a vibrant pediatric specialty group, the director of pediatric echocardiography and the co-director of the Pediatric Chest Wall Clinic.  He brought his skills and experience back to the University of Florida in 2020, and was appointed the medical director of the Congenital Heart Center’s outpatient clinic.  He oversaw multiple outpatient clinics and played key roles in the pediatric exercise testing program and the development of a multidisciplinary pediatric pulmonary hypertension program.   He was also active in student, resident, and fellow education.  In 2023 he returned to the Billings Clinic where he practices now.
